Senator Mudashiru Hussein

Alhaji Mudashiru Oyetunde Husain was born in the 50s by Alhaji & Alhaja Husain Jinadu.He started his primary education in the 60s and his secondary education at Muslim Grammer School, Ede, in the 70s and proceeded to French Village in Badagry where he obtained Diploma in French Language and Certificate in Arabic Studies. He then proceeded to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he bagged Bachelor of Art degree (B.A Hons.) in Foreign Language precisely French Language.

Alhaji Mudashiru Oyetunde Husain travelled widely to oversea countries such as France and United State of America to advance his studies after which he returned to Nigeria in 1998. He joined politics in Lagos, Nigeria and was elected as a Member of House of Representatives representing Oshodi/Isolo from 1999 – 2007, during that period, he was appointed as Sub -committee Chairman, Education Support Services.

Because of his tremendous achievement in Lagos State, he was given an opportunity to represent his people of Osun West Senatorial District at the upper chamber of National Assembly, and then he was elected as a Senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) from 2011 till date and he is the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Sport; he is also a member of some Senate Committees such as Committee on Appropriation,  Committee on Foreign Affairs, Committee on Establishment & Public Services and Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Anti-corruption & Financial Crimes.

Senator Mudashiru Oyetunde Husain is a recipient of many Awards such as:

  • OSBC Chapter of Radio Television, Theater & Arts Workers’ Union (RATTAWU).
  • National Association of Teachers’ Union, Egbedore Chapter.
  • National Association of State of Osun Student (NAOSS Unibenin Chapter) for being Advocate of the masses.
  • European Languages Students Association (ELSA) 2011 Merit Award, for his contribution towards the Department of European Languages.

Senator Husain is happily married and blessed with children.
